Det är knappast en nyhet att AI börjar få allt större spridning och en som ämnar hänga med i svängarna är rapparen Lupe Fiasco. Nyligen avslöjade han sitt nya samarbete med Google, där han tagit fram ett AI-verktyg för rappare.

Verktyget, som fått namnet TextFX, “specifically (focuses) on the writing process of creating raps”. Det beskrivs som en stor språkmodell som ger användare möjligheten att utforska olika möjligheter att vända på ord, något som också är karaktäristiskt för Lupes sätt att skriva texter.

“Rap is born out of technology”, förklarar artisten i en video om verktyget. Ett påstående som kan tyckas kontraintuitivt. “Rap wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for these technological advancements.”

Aaron Wade, Creative Technologist på Google, säger vidare om samarbetet:

“Initially, we thought that maybe Lupe would want an A.I. system to write lyrics for him, verses and raps. But it turns out that he didn’t want that at all. What he wanted was a tool that helped him explore the universe of possibilities that can arise from any given word, or phrase, or concept.”

I en annan video får man se Lupe Fiasco skapa en låt med hjälp av TextFX. Där går han igenom hur verktyget fungerar innan han framför den nyskapade låten “Glass Of Water”.

“Depending on what you want to get out of it, it is there for you to get it”, förklarar han.

“It does require you to do the work, it’s not doing the work for you. It’s just providing you with different opportunities, and work flow, and being efficient, and you know, offloading certain things so your mind can focus on other things.”

TextFX finns nu tillgänglig för användning.
