Medan familjen "inte utesluter fulspel" kring 84-åringens död.
Flera stora hiphop-artister sörjer skådespelaren John Amos, vars död bekräftades av hans son i tisdags den 1 oktober. Amos var mest känd för sina roller i filmerna “Good Times”, “Roots” och “En prins i New York” (“Coming To America”).
Amos dog redan den 21 augusti enligt amerikanska medier, men bekräftades alltså död först häromdagen. Han blev 84 år gammal. I sitt uttalande skriver hans son Kelly Christopher Amos, mer känd som K.C., följande:
“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold and he was loved the world over. Many fans consider him their TV father. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor.”
En representant för Amos har bekräftat för Variety att Amos dog av naturliga orsaker, men frågetecken kring dödsfallet har höjts av resterande familj som tydligen fick beskedet via media som alla andra. I ett inlägg skriver Amos dotter Shannon:
“I am without words…Our family has received the heartbreaking news that my Dad, John Allen Amos, Jr., transitioned on Aug. 21. We are devastated and left with many questions about how this happened 45 days ago, learning about it through the media like so many of you”, skriver hon och fortsätter:
“This should be a time of honoring and celebrating his life, yet we are struggling to navigate the wave of emotions and uncertainties surrounding his passing. Still, there is some semblance of peace in knowing my father is finally free.”
I ett senare inlägg har hon också påstått att en annan kvinna närvarade på akuten när hennes pappas dog och låtsades då vara henne.
“We believe it was Belinda Foster, the woman also posing as his publicist. He died alone without family.”
I ett gemensamt uttalande av Amos familj framgår också att man “inte utesluter fulspel”. Innan skådespelarens död pågick nämligen en fejd mellan hans barn om pappans vård, där Shannon bland annat anklagat K.C. för “elder abuse” (övergrepp på äldre).

Sedan nyheten började spridas har namn som Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, DJ Premier och Questlove gått ut och hedrat skådespelaren.
