Donald Trump skrev inatt historia då han blir den första presidenten att ställas inför riksrätt två gånger. Gårdagens röstning landade enligt CNBC på 232 för och 197 emot, efter att tio republikaner gått emot sitt parti och gett medhåll till anklagelsen om “incitement of insurrection”. Det hela handlar om president Trumps roll i de dödliga upploppen vid Capitol Hill förra veckan, där han bedöms ha uppmanat till upploppen.
Nu är det upp till senaten att bestämma om det ska väckas åtal. Där behövs två tredjedelars majoritet istället för en enkel majoritet som i representanthuset.
