Första delen av fyra från Ems intervju med Zane Lowe.

Efter releasesuccén med “Marshall Mathers LP 2”, som sålde 700 000 exemplar den första veckan, fortsätter Eminem sin pressturné med en intervju med BBC Radio 1s Zane Lowe. I samma studio som den uppmärksammade intervjun med Kanye West ägde rum, beskriver Eminem sitt senaste album som en stillbild av livet:

“All my albums I think for the most part pretty much tell where I’m at. There’s a lot of reflecting and things like that back on everything that was happening during that time. It’s kind of like me reflecting on it and getting to the point where I’m with it now.”

Han förklarar också hur albumet är en slags uppföljare till “Marshall Mathers LP” och varför han valde att fortsätta historien om Stan:

“I had heard a lot of chatter around the time of the Recovery record that I should do “Stan 2″. All I kept thinking was: well, Stan’s dead. He died in the story. So in the back of the mind I kind of had an idea of who could be left in the story. But I had to get the right beat.”

På tal om produktion pratade Em även om samarbetet med Rick Rubin, som agerade exekutiv producent på “MMLP2” tillsammans med Dr. Dre:

“I had my reservations just because I’m a super fan of Rick. So I’d probably be a little nervous. I don’t know what the vibe would be just because I would be wanting to impress him. It was very much kind of like the feeling that I got early on with Dre.”
