Samarbetar med BitTorrent för släppet av mixtape, Jet Life-dokumentär och ett interaktivt konvolut.

Likt Death Grips och Public Enemy har New Orleans-rapparen Curren$y och hans kollektiv Jet Life signat en deal med BitTorrent för att släppa sitt senaste projekt Red Eye. Spitta och hans Jet Life-posse; Cornerboy P, Fiend och Young Roddy rappar tillsammans med gästerna Deelow Diamond Man, Juvenile, Mary Gold och Casso över produktion från bland andra Cardo, Sledgren, Thelonius Martin och Monstabeatz. Curren$ys manager Mousa hade bara gott att säga om samarbetet med peer-to-peerbolaget:

“Our main interest was the reach that BitTorrent had throughout the world wide web. Everybody knows the way Curren$y and Jet Life’s movement was started through the use of the internet. BitTorrent was a way for us to get larger and expand through digital media so it was the obvious choice.”

Matt Mason, marketingchef på BitTorrent säger själv att släppet med Curren$y och Jet Life är en del av företagets strategi för att tvätta av sig stämpeln som olaglig fildelningstjänst:

“BitTorrent is technology company. We have never done anything illegal. We’ve never been sued. What we are trying to do is show that this is a technology company.”
