Återförenas med mannen som upptäckte den i sommar Sverige-aktuella Atlanta-duon.

Trots den hyllade och av fans emotsedda återföreningen av Outkast verkar nytt musikskapande i studion vara avlägset. Både Big Boi och Andre3000 har indikerat att återföreningen endast gäller för den stundande turnén under sommaren.

Detta verkar dock inte hindra Big Boi som i samband med Coachella-spelningarna i april tog tillfället i akt att signera ett nytt skivkontrakt med Epic Records. På bolaget återförenas Big Boi med mannen som upptäckte och kontrakterade Outkast i början av 1990-talet, L.A. Reid. Till Huffington Post säger Big Boi angående den nya dealen:

I just signed a deal with Epic Records … So I’m back with L.A. Reid and Sylvia Rhone. Got a brand new situation. I signed the deal the day after the first Coachella date, that Saturday.

The album I’m not gonna rush … I wanted to put something out before the end of the year. It depends, because me and Dre got a lot of work to do from now until the end of October. [But] you’re definitely going to get some brand new Big Boi material. Two or three singles before the fall.

Han kommenterade även L.A. Reid och dennes betydelse för Epic-kontrakteringen:

He understands my music. And one thing about L.A. Reid, there are no creative restraints. He trusts my ear and let’s me make the music I want to make. We love being in business together. That’s my big brother.
