"There’s so much bad stuff that you don’t even know what to believe..."

Den legendariska duon Outkast från Atlanta bestående av Big Boi och Andre 3000 har senaste åren gjort sig kända för att inte dra jämna strån musikaliskt. Trots att fans önskar en återförening mellan de två verkar detta vara avlägset då båda herrarna fortsätter att arbeta på egen hand. Big Boi är i december aktuell med nya soloplattan “Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumours”. På skivan saknas dock Andre 3000 och medverkar inte som gästartist på skivan. I en intervju med The Village Voice förklarar Big Boi varför Outkast-kollegan inte finns med:

“He could’ve been on any song he wanted to. I gave the motherfucker about five songs, but I guess he was just too busy. He said he had to do some Gillette shit. No for real. He said he had some contractual obligations.”

Samtidigt uttalade sig Andre 3000 i en ny intervju med The Rolling Stone och förklarade sin sviktande inspiration för musiken:

“Things are kind of up in the air with me, and some days, I feel like yeah, I’ll do it. Some days, I feel like, I don’t. I don’t know the future of music right now. I have no idea what I do. I honestly don’t. I record and I write ideas. I think I’ll always do that, for some reason. But I don’t know if it will go to another artist or will it be my stuff or will it go to some movie? I don’t know. I just kind of keep creating and hopefully, it’ll fall into a slot.”

I en annan intervju med Fuse TV uttalade sig även Andre 3000 i samma ämne och sade:

“We don’t know what the future will be.  There could be, I just can’t say right now.  If we decide to do something, you’ll know about it. The Internet is such a misinformation age right now.  There’s so much bad stuff that you don’t even know what to believe, so don’t believe anything about OutKast on the Internet until we say it.”
