Album av Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest och Alicia Keys finns med bland den konst som nu väljs ut att arkiveras av National Recording Registry på kongressens bibliotek. Varje år väljs 25 stycken historiska inspelningar in, som bedöms vara “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Ett sådant är Wu-Tang Clans debutalbum från 1993, “Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)”, som nu väljs in tillsammans med bland annat A Tribe Called Quests “The Low End Theory” (1991) och Alicia Keys debut “Songs In a Minor” som kom tio år senare.

“The National Recording Registry reflects the diverse music and voices that have shaped our nation’s history and culture through recorded sound. The national library is proud to help preserve these recordings, and we welcome the public’s input. We received about 1,000 public nominations this year for recordings to add to the registry”, säger Carla Hayden, bibliotikarie vid Library of Congress.
