The Game i ny intervju: “I’ve never had a Dre beat in my career”

The Game har återigen adresserat sin relation till Dr. Dre och hans faktiska betydelse för hans karriär.

Även om han agerade exekutiv producent för The Games klassiska debutalbum “The Documentary” påtalar rapparen till “Fresh Pair” att han aldrig fått ett beat av Dr. Dre. Något som skulle kunna förvåna det mest pålästa hiphopfanet.

I intervju med Uproxx-programmet, där producenten Just Blaze är medvärd, säger han att Dre mest hade översyn kring projektet.

“He definitely oversaw the hell out of it, I was there”, bryter Blaze in när The Game sätter igång att förklara.

“You want Dre to oversee anything, because he’s a mastermind when it comes to that, but as far as like doing a beat for The Documentary, like…no. And I’ve never had a Dre beat in my career”, proklamerar han 22 minuter in i klippet.

Game menar att Dr. Dre oftast satte honom i arbete med producentkollegor som Scott Storch och Timbaland för “The Documentary”.

“I can’t give Dre credit for the Just Blaze, but it’s a Dr. Dre executive produced album. People just don’t understand the underlinings and how the business works.”

Västkustrapparen refererar också till sitt uttalande i “Drink Champs” och menar att faktumet beskrivit ovan är anledningen till att han sa att Kanye West gjort mer för hans karriär på två veckor än Dr. Dre någonsin gjort.

Han förtydligar också att det inte handlar om någon diss, utan att han helt enkelt berättar sin sida av historien.

“I’m never shooting shots at Dre, I’m only telling my story. And, my bad if you’re in it, but you’re in it.”

“Yeah, Dr. Dre signed me to Aftermath, but he wasn’t pressed to put my album out. That was 50 coming in, like, ‘Yeah, he dope as fuck, I want him in G-Unit,’ and Jimmy Iovine thought that was a good idea too. So, they put me in G-Unit, but I did not want to be in G-Unit. So that’s why I’m not on a G-Unit album, or you didn’t see me in my career with the group when you saw the group. I was just that kinda official, unofficial member.”
