Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Chance The Rapper, Fat Joe & Remy Ma samt DJ Khaled var bland vinnarna som fick emotta flera statyetter.
På tisdagskvällen amerikansk tid sändes hiphopgalan BET Awards i USA och det var i vanlig ordning en bred uppslutning från musikbranschens absolut största namn som fanns på plats i Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre i Atlanta. På secen uppträdde bland annat Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Travis Scott och Quavo (se videoklipp längst ner), Big K.R.I.T., Desiigner, Young M.A, DJ Khaled och Isaiah Rashad. T.I, eller TIP, stod i tider av polisvåld mot den afroamerikanska befolkningen för en stark politisk markering då han i Black Panthers-mundering framförde “We Will Not” på scen.
