Minnesstunden för producenten och grundaren av Murder Inc. Records, Irv Gotti, född Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr., gästades av en hel del hiphop-kungligheter såsom Ashanti, Lloyd, Charli Baltimore, Fat Joe och Jay-Z med flera. En av de som fick hålla tal var rapparen Ja Rule, som hade stora framgångar med Gotti och var Murder Inc.’s ansikte utåt under tidigt 00-tal. Med tårar i ögonen levererade han följande ord från hjärtat:
“Irv is my brother, It’s the biggest honor you can give someone who is not your blood brother is to say they’re your brother. We started this journey together a long time ago. The man changed my life.”
Han fortsatte med att säga att minnesstunden är ett sätt att fira Irv Gottis liv.
“Everyone in this room loves you. You touched everybody in your own way. I know everybody has their moments of that with him. So, we are all here in celebration of your life. Because it will live on forever. I love you, my brother. See you when I get there.”
Efter minnesstunden bars Gottis kista ut för en sista tur genom hans gamla kvarter i Queens, New York vidare till en park och förbi hans barndomshem.
