"I Wanted to Do This Sh*t for the Culture".
Under natten gick den efterlängtade battlen mellan Atlanta-ikonerna Gucci Mane och Jeezy av stapeln på den ökända stripklubben Magic City. Ett möte som trotsade många dåliga förutsättningar, inte minst med tanke på de bådas långvariga beef. Faktum är att bara några timmar innan eventet så släppte Gucci Mane 2012 års disslåt “Truth”, där han nämner Jeezys bortgångna vän Pookie Loc, på Spotify. Och sen uppträdde han den live framför rapparen.

Innan Jeezy svarade med en låt tog han en kort paus för att säga några ord, till synes i ett försök att begrava stridsyxan.
“Let me say my piece … I extended my hand because I’m a real man. The shit we came from in the street, dawg, you see that we been through it … Twenty years. And when I said I wanted to do this shit for the culture, that’s what I wanted to do. I brought you here to show you the world care about what the fuck we got going on ’cause we are the culture. You feel me? Me and you, where we came from, what we been through, n***a, us.”

Och vi skulle få ett lyckligt slut, då battlen avslutades med 2005 års hit “So Icy” som också var starten på deras beef.
“We appreciate y’all tuning in”, sa Gucci innan han vände sig direkt till sin motståndare: “Ay, man, listen. I respect, I appreciate you for throwing out the olive branch. I accept that. No disrespect, it’s all love.”
