Där DaBaby, Roddy Ricch och Megan Thee Stallion är i täten.
Natten till onsdag presenterade BET de nominerade för 2020 års Hip Hop Wards där DaBaby leder flocken med hela 12 nomineringar. Inte nog med det, han blir också historisk som den första artist att nomineras två gånger i kategorin Album of the Year, med både “KIRK” och “Blame It On Baby”. Han är dessutom dubbelnominerad i ytterligare tre kategorier.
Tätt efter kommer Roddy Ricch med elva nomineringar, med Drake och Megan Thee Stallion landar på åtta vardera. Redo att ta över facklan efter att just DaBaby vann Best New Artist i fjol är bland andra Pop Smoke, som är nominerad i kategorin tillsammans med Rod Wave, Flo Milli, Jack Harlow, Mulatto och NLE Choppa.
En som däremot lär bojkotta galan är Royce Da 5’9”, som uppenbart är missnöjd med att inte finnas med på listan över årets lyricister. På listan över de nominerade återfinns istället J. Cole, Big Sean, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby och Rapsody, där många har kopplingar till Roc Nation. På sedvanligt manér gjorde Royce ett fyndigt inlägg via sociala medier där han skrev:
“I been congregating in the wrong buildings, obviously. I’m ciphering with a big ass @bumpboxx outside the next @rocnation brunch with the doorway blocked.”
