Pusha T har sannerligen inte varit snål med intervjuer i samband med att nya albumet “It’s Almost Dry”, som just nu toppar albumlistan på Billboard, släpptes den 22 april. I en ny konversation med “The Morning Hustle” adresserar 44-åringen bland annat en påstådd beef med Eminem.
Det var på frågan om det fanns någon som Push ansåg sig ha kunnat förgöra “lyrically”, men valt att backa. Han ville inte nämna några namn, men drog upp Eminems namn efter att själv ha noterat teorierna från fans. Enligt honom själv grundar sig ryktena på ett missförstånd från en låttext.
“I saw just recently on Twitter people saying myself and Eminem. I’m like, bro! It was a misinterpretation of something I don’t even remember. Something I said or whatever. But you know, people decode, and they have their own thing — and I was like, ‘Nah, man!”
Han fortsatte med att hylla Slim Shady som en förebild.
“Em is somebody that I respect. He’s one of them people that I really like what he does because, after all of his success, I can still find Lyricist Lounge Eminem [Eminem appeared on Lyricist Lounge in 1998]. That’s a goal for me, personally.”
Em är dock inte den enda som Push hyllat i samband med sin nysläppta skiva. Ett par dagar efter release gick han ut via sociala medier och förärade Diddy med en mängd lovord för inspirationen han bidragit med genom åren.
“Anytime I’ve ever had a lack of inspiration, I searched for you. When I throw my voice in the studio, mimicking BIG, and the writers/fans notice…what they don’t know is, it was you in 2015 showing me how to turn the corner in those verses to add magic to the song. You’ve always shared the codes with me. Whether approving my albums on the outdoor home speakers at the LA estate to driving the causeways on golf carts thru Miami Beach just listening to a mogul talk”, skrev han i ett inlägg där Diddy hyllar albumet och avslutade med orden:
“I say all this to let you know, although @pharrell and @kanyewest executive produced #ItsAlmostDry , it is your DNA, your fingerprints, and your spirit all over this muthafucka!! Thank you for everything @diddy.”
