"My favorite lyricist and melody maker of all fuckin’ time.”
Post Malone har som bekant bytt ut hiphop och pop mot country och släppte nyligen sitt album “F-1 Trillion” med ett gäng stora namn inom den senare genren. Men han har fortfarande stor kärlek för hiphopgenren. I en ny intervju avslöjar han att Young Thug är hans favorittextförfattare och melodi-makare genom tiderna.
I ett gästspel hos “This Past Weekend With Theo Von” säger han:
“Young Thug, for me, is my favorite lyricist and melody maker of all fuckin’ time. The first song I heard, it was him and Peewee Longway — it was a song called ‘Loaded.’ And I was like, what the fuck? These melodies [are] insane.”
Han fortsatte med att hylla Thug och förklarade varför han tycker som han tycker.
“He goes to such crazy fuckin’ places — free Young Thug, by the way. He goes to such crazy fuckin’ places where the natural mind, my melody mind, doesn’t go. I would go down one place, and he would go like two octaves up. And I was like, what the fuck, this is mind[blowing]. So fun to listen to.”
Förra månaden uttalade sig Posty även om den relativt breda kritiken mot honom om att vara en “culture vulture”, som följt honom sedan genombrottet med “White Iverson” 2015. Han medgav då att “it sucked” och att han hanterade det genom att dricka mycket. Men han fortsatte ändå att skriva låtar.
“It’s not for people who hate you. It’s for the people who love you, and for yourself, you know what I mean?”
