Nick Cannon har haft rejäla problem den senaste tiden, då han i ett avsnitt av sin podcast “Cannon Class” uttryckte sig anti-semitiskt i en diskussion med forne Public Enemy-medlemmen Professor Griff. Och det blev inte bättre när han inte bad om ursäkt, utan snarare sparkade bakut. Detta ledde senare till att han fick sparken av Viacom, vilka han nu är i en tvist med kring rättigheterna av programmet “Wild N Out”.
I podcasten menade Nick Cannon att anti-semitism inte kunde appliceras på svarta människor och sa bland annat: “the Semitic people and language have nothing to do with white people. It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright”, sa han och lade till: “we are the true Hebrews.”
En som i vanlig ordningen var snabb på att plocka upp nyheten var 50 Cent, som postade en provocerande meme på sociala medier.
Nick Cannon väntade inte länge med att svara Fifty:
“Hahaha It be your own people!! Feels like when The Game came in and took over G-Unit!! ‘Damn Homey, In Highschool you was the man Homey!!!”
Cannon har samtidigt försökt rätta till sitt misstag och gjort en offentlig ursäkt. Han meddelar också att han tar en paus från sin radioshow för att ta tid att lära sig mer om det judiska folket. Dock verkar det snart komma ett avsnitt med en rabbin, då han för bara några timmar sedan postade följande inlägg:

They reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from.”
“While the Jewish experience encompasses more than 5,000 years and there is so much I have yet to learn, I have had at least a minor history lesson over the past few days and to say that it is eye-opening would be a vast understatement. I want to express my gratitude to the Rabbis, community leaders and institutions who reached out to me to help enlighten me, instead of chastising me. I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education—I am committed to deeper connections, more profound learning and strengthening the bond between our two cultures today and every day going forward.”
