På tisdagskvällen sändes årets upplaga av BET Hip Hop Awards 2023, där Kendrick Lamar tog hem flest priser under utdelningen. Han tog bland annat hem priset för “Lyricist Of The Year” och för “Best Live Performer”.

Bland övriga vinnare så tog följande artister hem två statyetter var; Drake & 21 Savage, Lil Durk and J. Cole, Metro Boomin och Lil Uzi Vert. Notabelt är att Cardi B var nominerad i tolv kategorier men gick tomhänt hem från galan. Stjärnskottet Ice Spice vann även i kategorin “Breakthrough Artist Of The Year. I den internationella kategorin prisade Black Sherif från Ghana.

Galan hölls på på Cobb Energy Center i Atlanta under ledning av Fat Joe. I ett uttalande säger Connie Orlando på BET:

“This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards will mark the culmination of our yearlong celebration of hip-hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion. We are honored by this year’s roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of hip hop into the future. We congratulate each nominee on their accomplishments as they take hip hop artistry to new heights.”
