Kanye West ber (motvilligt) om ursäkt för antisemitiska kommentater

Kallar president Joe Biden "retarded".

Kanye West har nu bett om ursäkt för sina antisemitiska uttalanden på senare tid. Efter många om och men. I en stundtals kaotisk intervju med Piers Morgan är han först motvillig till att erkänna sitt misstag, men säger till slut att han ångrar sig. Eller åtminstone “the confusion and pain” han orsakat med, kanske framförallt, kommentaren om att han skulle “go death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE”.

På den initiala frågan om han var ledsen för att han skrev vad han skrev svarar dock Kanye:

“No. Absolutely not”, varpå Morgan menar att han borde vara det.

“That is as racist as anything you say you’ve been through, and any pain you’ve experienced, it’s the same thing”, säger Morgan.

Kanye svarar då:

“Yeah, obviously, that’s why I said it.”

Senare i intervjun ger han dock med sig och säger:

“I will say I’m sorry for the people that I hurt with the Death Con. I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I’m sorry for the families of the people that had nothing to do with the trauma that I’d been through. And I used my platform where you say, ‘Hurt people, hurt people.’ And I was hurt.

I wanna say that it’s wrong to hold an apology hostage and I gotta let go of that and free myself of the trauma and say, ‘Look, I’m just gonna give it all up to God right now. And say to those families that are hurt I really wanna give you guys a big hug and I say I’m sorry for hurting you with my comments.”

Han fortsätter:

“And I want to word it not in a political way, but a presidential way, which means what I knew to be a president when I was growing up.”

Apropå presidenter så lyckades han återigen höja ögonbrynen på folk när han använde sig av ableism (handikappsdiskriminering) och förolämpade presidenten Joe Biden. Kanye själv menar att han får använda vilka ord han vill då han är mentalt sjuk.

“Biden doesn’t listen to Elon Musk. The President of the United States does not have meetings with Elon Musk. That is fucking—hey, here, come, come, come get me—that’s fucking r*****ed. I know I’m not supposed to say that Biden, but that’s fucking r******d, Biden. And, and, you know, it’s, um…and obviously because I’ve been deemed with mental health, all this, I have the right to use whatever words that I like to use.”

Resterande del av den två timmar långa intervjun väntas släppas imorgon fredag.
