Har även hamnat i dispyt med Kai Cenat angående Killer Mikes Grammy-vinst.
I det senaste avsnittet av sin podcast diskuterade Joe Budden helgens Grammy-gala. Där delade han bland annat med sig av sina åsikter kring Travis Scotts uppträdande, som gästades av en maskerad Playboi Carti. Och han var inte imponerad.
Även om han tidigare berömt Travis Scott för albumet “UTOPIA” var det andra ordval när han skulle kommentera uppträdandet. “What the fuck is Travis and his man doing up here?”, frågade han retoriskt.
“Hey, you two bozos! Get the fuck off the stage when n-ggas got beautiful women and tuxedos on, honestly. You up there smashing shit. You got the nerve“, fortsatte han innan han framförde en giltig poäng angående framträdandet:
“All that shit look different when it ain’t a thousand little white kids jumping up and down. When there are grown people here, all that ‘FE!N, FE!N, FE!N,’ that’s what you wanted to win over Killer Mike? You’re fucking stupid! You bring your man out, Playboi Carti [and] the crowd just stays silent. Playboi Carti looked confused like, ‘Y’all don’t know who I am?’ No, n-gga! You got a fucking mask on.
“Who the fuck are you under there? You are not at SXSW anymore! We can’t recognize you bozos by the stocking mask you wearing. I hate these n-ggas, man, all of ’em! I love that song, I love that song, but not when tuxedos are out. Take that shit to the dirty Coachella grass, n-gga. N-ggas showered and lathered themselves tonight.”
Precis som Budden nämner så var Travis Scott uppenbarligen inte nöjd med att ha förlorat i kategorin Best Rap Album. Under sitt framträdande la han till orden “They slept on me 10 times”, med referens till de tio nomineringar men noll vinster han tilldelats under sin karriär. Han postade också en emoji med höjt ögonbryn på X efter att Killer Mike annonserats som vinnare i kategorin.
En annan som var missnöjd med Killer Mikes vinst var streamern och YouTube-profilen Kai Cenat. I en Twitch-stream i samband med galan uttryckte han sin frustration över att Killer Mike vunnit.
“Who decided this motherfucker? Who the fuck decided this motherfucker? Her Loss? Utopia? Metro Boomin?”, skrek han mot kameran.
Budden adresserade sedan detta i sin podcast och markerade tydligt att han inte hade mycket till övers för varken Cenat eller andra streamers.
“Shut your ass up. Y’all little streaming n***as don’t always run shit. Shut the fuck up. We don’t care about none of that little streaming, moshpit, marked car whatever you n***as is doing over there.”
“U-fucking-topia. U-nope-ia n***a. I’m just so happy that the streaming, that the little fuckity fucks finally have a look in the mirror moment and say, ‘Oh, it’s not about us.’ No, adults are out, n***a. N***as got pocket handkerchiefs in. N***as got fly shit on. Yeah, real execs, business people, you little fuckity fucks”, fortsatte han.
Kai Cenat har sedan dess svarat på Buddens kommentarer och vidhåller sin åsikt, samtidigt som han (precis som många andra) avfärdar den forne rapparen som en gamling.
“Y’all stop talking about streamer n***as, bro…I would buy you, my n***a. … You say it don’t come off as hating but you always bringing me up, bro. Relax, my n***a. Stop”, sa Cenat under en stream igår onsdag och fortsatte:
“Respect to the old n***as for sure. Respect to ’em for sure. The only thing I would say I was wrong at was not even [being] able to do my research on Killer Mike and shit like that. But in the moment, if I wanna voice my opinion, I’mma voice my opinion. 100 percent, bro. And that’s some people’s problem, y’all don’t ever let the young n***as flourish—the young n***as think Utopia is fire, let the young n***as think Utopia is fire.”
