I avsnitt om hudsjukdomen alopecia.

I ett nytt avsnitt av Jada Pinkett Smiths Facebook-serie “Red Table Talk” adresserar hon nu för första gången Will Smiths attack mot Chris på Oscarsgalan. Detta som en del av ett avsnitt som tillägnas sjukdomen alopecia areata, en inflammatorisk hudsjukdom som orsakas håravfall.

“This is a really important Red Table Talk on alopecia. Considering what I’ve been through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands have reached out to me with their stories. I’m using this moment to give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is”, säger Pinkett Smith i början av avsnittet.

Det var i mars som Chris Rock skämtade om Jada Pinkett Smiths rakade skalle och gjorde en referens till Demi Moores roll i filmen “G.I. Jane”. Will Smith gick då upp på scenen och gav Rock en örfil, innan han satte satte sig ner och skrek: “Keep my wife’s name out your fucking mouth”.

I introt till programmet säger Jada att hon hoppas att de båda kan bli sams och prata ut om incidenten.

“Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile. The state of the world today? We need them both. And we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.”

Som ett resultat av tilltaget portades Will Smith från Oscars i tio år. Han kan dock fortfarande nomineras och vinna priser för sina skådespelarinsatser framöver.
