Konstnären bakom "KOD"-omslag vädrar sina åsikter.
En av dom mest minnesvärda aspekterna av J. Coles fjolårsalbum “KOD” var utan tvekan det vackra omslaget gjort av konstnären Sixmau. Men nu får han hård kritik av Kamau Haroon, som Sixmau egentligen heter, då han påstår sig ha blivit lurad av Dreamville-chefen.
J. Cole ska ha lovat Sixmau att konsten enbart skulle användas för albumets booklet och det fanns ingen överenskommelse kring merchandise eller liknande. Därför blev konstnären såklart upprörd när han fick reda på att rapparen sålde merch med omslaget på. Nu vill han se till att alla är medvetna om hur J. Cole hanterat situationen.
I en rad tweets skriver han bland annat:
“I did all the creative direction for the KOD album and he told me my work was only going to be used for booklet art. Only to turn around and make merchandise illegally with my art behind my back and profit majorly off it while on tour. Fuck them.”
Efter att fans börjat fråga om mer detaljer gav konstnären svar på tal:
“THIS IS EXACTLY HOW HE IS ABLE TO EXPLOIT PEOPLE. HIS MESSAGE OF POSITIVITY MAKES THEM FEEL COMFORTABLE WHILE HE FINESSES THE MONEY BEHIND THEY BACK.”
