Att Drake utses till årtiondets artist av Billboard känns väldigt passande, då han är den mest framgångsrika artisten i Billboard Music Wards historia. Under söndagskvällen mottog han priset som endast två personer innan honom fått: Mariah Carey, som dominerade listorna på 90-talet, samt Eminem som tog över listorna under 00-talet.

Adonis började då gråta, vilket fick Drake att ta upp honom och lägga till: “I want to dedicate this award to you.”

Drakes historiska framgångar på Billboard-listorna inkluderar nio listettor (album), 45 topp 10-singlar och 232 Hot 100-placeringar. Nu väntar alla på att få se om kommande albumet “Certified Lover Boy” kan prestera lika bra.
I övrigt blev The Weeknd och Pop Smoke de stora vinnarna under kvällen, där den senare tog hem priser som Top New Artist, Top Rap Artist och Top Male Rap Artist samt både Top Billboard 200 Album och Top Rap Album med postuma debuten “Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon”.
