The Roots-rapparen Black Thought beskrivs ofta som en av hiphopvärldens mest underskattade rappare i diskussionen kring så kallade “GOAT”-listor och andra sammanhang. Under våren är Black Thought aktuell med nytt albumprojekt i samarbete med El Michels Affair och fortsätter agera husbandsvärd och MC på den populära talkshowen “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon”.
Nu lanserar Black Thought, vars riktiga namn är Tariq Trotter, en självbiografisk bok med titeln “The Upcycled Self”. På Instagram skriver han:
“The storytelling continues. The medium is ever evolving. I’m so proud of this work. It’s been years in the making. The story of the Upcycled Self — a focus on childhood forged from the fire.”
Boken ska beskriva hans liv vad gäller framgångar, motgångar och tragedier. Han skriver vidare:
“I hope in sharing so much about my upbringing we can find new courage to start the difficult conversations that prompt healing, with ourselves and others. As men. As Black men. As humans.”
Den självbiografiska boken “The Upcycled Self” släpps 14 november 2023.
