Under fjolåret hade Snoop Dogg och Eminem en dispyt, efter att den förstnämnda utelämnat Shady från sin topp 10-lista över de bästa rapparna genom tiderna. Ett uttalande som Eminem uppenbarligen hade svårt att smälta, även om det senare skulle visa sig att det handlade mer om en annan detalj i uttalandet.
I vanlig ordning drog sig Em inte för att adressera händelsen på en låt, vilket han gjorde på “Music To Be Murdered By: Side B”-spåret “Zeus”.
“As far as squashing beef I’m used to people knocking me/But just not in my camp/And diplomatic as I’m tryin’ to be/Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me/Man, Dogg, you was like a damn god to me/Meh, not really (haha)/I had dog backwards”, rappar han på låten.
I december förklarade han var det var som irriterade honom med uttalandet.
“Everything he said, by the way, was fine, up to a point. Him saying I’m not in his Top 10 because there are some rappers in the ’90s I can’t fuck with…A: Him saying Dre made the best version of me, absolutely, why would I have a problem with that? Would I be here without Dre? Fuck no, I wouldn’t. The rappers he mentioned from the ‘90s — KRS One, Big Daddy Kane, [Kool] G Rap — I’ve never said I could fuck with them. I never said that.”
Han fortsatte:
“I think it was more about the tone he was using that caught me off-guard ’cause I’m like, where is this coming from? I just saw you, what the fuck? It threw me for a loop. Again, I probably could’ve gotten past the whole tone and everything, but it was the last statement where he said, ‘Far as music I can live without, I can live without that shit.’ Now you’re being disrespectful. It just caught me off-guard. I wasn’t ready for that.”
Men dispyten verkar nu vara ur världen, då Snoop avslöjade ett kommande samarbete under helgen. Tillsammans med Mt. Westmore-kollegan Too $hort besökte de Shade 45 där de pratade om sitt kommande album med gruppkonstellationen som också inkluderar Ice Cube och E-40.
“Everybody’s solo song was the last verse of the song before that, except the one with me and Eminem. Because I felt like that was like a big reveal. When n-ggas hear that Eminem on that mothafucka, that’s just a whole other level”, berättade han.
DJ Whoo Kid delade sedan klippet via Twitter och till synes bekräftade samarbetet.

Och tur är det väl att allting verkar löst, då Eminem och Snoop Dogg också kommer att dela scen inom kort. Och inte vilken scen som helst, då man står för halvtidsunderhållningen på Super Bowl tillsammans med Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar och Mary J. Blige. Ice Cube har tidigare bekräftat att Dr. Dre kommer att gästa med en rapvers på det kommande Mt. Westmore-albumet.
