I början och mitten av 2010-talet firade Rick Ross och Meek Mill stora framgångar med olika albumprojekt och samarbeten genom Maybach Music Group (MMG). Efter Rozays hälsoproblem och Meek Mills fängelsevistelse har deras vägar inte korsats alltför många gånger, fram till förra hösten då de båda gjorde gemensamma livespelningar för att fira jubileum för “Dreams & Nightmares” samt “Self Made Vol.1”. I våras syntes Ross och Mill även i studion där en försmak på ett kommande samarbete spelades upp.

I slutet av september avslöjade Rick Ross och Meek Mill att de båda spelat in ett gemensamt albumprojekt, för Ebro Darden på Apple Music. Albumet har titeln “Too Good To Be True” och projektet innehåller totalt 17 spår, som gästas av Vory, Fabolous, Teyana Taylor, DJ Khaled, Wale, The Dream, Jeremih, French Montana och Future. Dessutom får vi en remix av låten “Shaq & Kobe”, med just hobbyrapparen och NBA-legendaren Shaquille O’Neal samt den mer etablerade rapparen och basketstjärnan Dame D.O.L.L.A. (Damian Lillard).

I en intervju med Apple Music (se nedan) berättade Rick Ross nyligen om albumprojektet:

“This the culture. It’s too good to be true and man, it just feel good, and it was too easy. We set it off. We both know what our true gifts are, our talents are when it comes to production. So when it came to this vibe, it was really simple. It didn’t take a lot of time, but we brought the best out of each other. This was just personal. This was just me and Meek and that was just us in the studio. It wasn’t a lot of people, just the team, the private team. Meek, his team, my team, Sam Sneak, Brion, the producers, and we kept it uncut. We went straight to the vein with it. Yeah, straight up…”
