Drake presenterade häromdagen en förlängning av sin turné med J. Cole och släppte under natten mot torsdag även musikvideon till “For All The Dogs”-låten “First Person Shooter”. Som att det inte vore nog, så avslöjade Drake igår att ytterligare (!) ett albumprojekt skulle släppas natten mot fredag. Det handlar om en fortsättning på “Scary Hours”-serien som presenterades med en trailer via sociala medier. Drake berättar i klippet följande:
“I’ll say this to you: I feel no need to appease anybody. I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go and disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years. Even though I’m not really, like, into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery.”
Drake avslutar med att förklara hur enkelt musikskapandet numera sker:
“You know, ultimately, it’s coming to me in a way that I haven’t experienced maybe since, like, If You’re Reading This…, where I feel like I’m on drugs. I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. I did those songs in the last five days! I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night that For All the Dogs dropped!””
“It’s not like I’m picking up from some unfinished shit; it’s happening on its own. Who am I to fight it, right? And to fight back against the right thing would be, well, you know.”
Det nya albumet “Scary Hours 3” släpptes vid midnatt och är exekutivt producerat av Noel Cadastre, Aubrey “Drake” Graham och Kevin Durant. På Spotify är det listat som en förlängning av hans senaste album, där sex nya spår nu lagts till för att utforma ett slags dubbelalbum. Bland låtarna hittar vi ännu ett J. Cole-samarbete som säkerligen kommer glädja fans av de två giganterna.
Utöver “Evil Ways” med J. Cole – där de båda rappar över ett soulsamplat beat – återfinns spåren “Red Button”, “Stories About My Brother”, “The Shoe Fits”, “Wick Man” och “You Broke My Heart”.
