Den legendariska gruppen De La Soul besökte senast Sverige 2019 på Gods Of Rap Tour med Wu-Tang Clan och Public Enemy. Under pandemin kunde trion äntligen köpa loss rättigheterna till sin egen musik från Tommy Boy Records, efter en lång tvist med skivbolaget. Nyligen syntes Posdnous, Dave och Maseo återförenade i studion med sin tidigare kollega Prince Paul, efter hela 30 år isär, för vad som tycks vara ett nytt albumprojekt.
“This might have been one of the most eventful years I’ve had in quite some time. An unsuspected highlight was the opportunity to revisit and work on De La Soul once again. I really want to thank them for believing in me once more to get the job done…I want to thank everyone who was involved in helping us make this project a reality. Everybody who I called on to participate or get advice from”, skrev Prince Paul.
Nu kommer mer glädjande nyheter från De La Soul – då ett releasedatum för flera av gruppens klassikeralbum har spikats till 3 mars 2023. Det är samma dag som deras debutalbum “3 Feet High And Rising” släpptes 1989.
