Utlovar även nytt album med The Roots.

Det verkar som att vi äntligen kommer att få höra ett samarbete mellan Black Thought och Danger Mouse. Samarbetet, som först annonserades för mer än ett årtionde sedan, är rapparens nästa projekt enligt en ny intervju med Hot 97.

“This Dangerous Thoughts album, that’s probably the next move I’m gonna make. That’s the long-awaited joint collaborative effort between me and Danger Mouse. And though it’s something that’s probably gonna drop in the middle of all these Streams Of Thought volumes, since it’s something that we began the initial idea maybe 13 or 14 years ago, I don’t consider it to be part of that same series”, säger han i intervjun och tillägger:

“So, it’s not gonna be like Streams Of Thought Vol. 4 is the Danger Mouse volume. It’s a standalone joint. And it’s an album, it’s a full-on album.”

Enligt The Roots-frontmannen kommer albumet att uppskattas av mångåriga hiphopfans och beskriver det som en återkomst för Danger Mouse till hiphopscenen, efter att ha producerat MF Doom-samarbetet “The Mouse & The Mask” och Jay-Z-mashupen “The Grey Album”.

“It’s a return for him to Hip Hop and to sampling in this way. It’s a feel-good record. It’s a record for people who got into Hip Hop and sort of evolved at the same period of time that we did. We’re the elder statesmen at this point, so I feel like this record is reflective of that too.”

De senaste åren har Black Thought främst fokuserat på sin “Streams of Thought”-serie och för drygt en vecka sedan släpptes den tredje volymen “Streams of Thought, Vol. 3: Cane & Able”. Inga detaljer kring releasedatum för projektet avslöjas, men rapparen gav också en update kring ett nytt The Roots-album och bekräftade att det släpps under 2021. Det blir isåfall gruppens 12:e studioalbum och deras första sedan 2014 års “…And Then You Shoot Your Cousin”.
