Sedan flera år tillbaka har den unga rapparen MC Abdul, från den ockuperade palestinska staden Gaza, visat framfötterna genom ett flertal videos och singlar. Som 13-åring fick han stort genomslag efter att ha gått in över Kool G Rap och DJ Polo-klassikern “Road To The Riches” i ett klipp på YouTube och Instagram. Därefter har han bland annat släppt singeln “Can I Live” där centralt tema är situationen i de ockuperade områdena i Palestina. Nu släpper MC Abdul nya singeln “The Pen & The Sword” där han berör den bristande utbildningsmöjligheterna för unga människor. I texten säger han bland annat:

“They bombed us it ain’t even make the news in y’all city He could’ve been a scholar but he’s a child of Gaza Missile hit his home and crushed it killed his ba ba We should be playing soccer or meeting up by our lockers He wanted to be a doctor But he didn’t have those options ( I told him)”
