Fotboll är viktigt för Neymar Jr. och så även hans familj. Hans nära relation till systern Rafaella symboliseras av en diamanttatuering på deras vardera arm. Precis ovanför Neymar Jr:s tatuering finns ordet ”sorella” (syster), medan Rafaella har ”fratello” (bror) ovanför sin.
“The diamond tattoo I’ve got was done with my sister. We thought we’d get one done together because diamonds are rare and the feelings I have for my sister are rare, so we decided to pay homage to each other in that way,” säger Neymar Jr. “A diamond is a gemstone that is simple but beautiful. It is also a rare jewel that stands out and that is what catches my attention and reminds me of my relationship with Rafa.”
Neymar Jr. sticker ut ur mängden, både på och utanför planen. Utmaningen för Nikes designteam var att säkerställa att även hans skor sticker ut. Neymar Jr. lanserade originalversionen av Hypervenom i Rio de Janeiro 2013. Han följde upp det med en guldversion av Hypervenom sommaren därpå. Nu när Neymar Jr. gör sitt åttonde år som Nike atlet, kommer han att premiärspela Hypervenom Liquid Diamond.
