Kendrick Lamar har sedan Grammy Awards och “unitled”-releasen i vintras hållit en relativt låg profil men är nu tillbaka med en kort spoken word-video i samarbete med Reebok. Under vår/sommar fortsätter Reebok Classic och Kendrick Lamar att fira sneakermodellen Reebok Classic Leather genom att släppa en video som en hyllning till den klassiska skon och sin personliga relation till den sneaker som han bar under sin uppväxt.

“Full of insecurity, self hate, and doubt.
But what I can’t control can’t confine me.
And what I can’t do can’t stop me.
This is how I express myself, not how I follow others expectations but how I stay true.”

Videon släpps för att marknadsföra Reeboks Classic Leather gum sole-modell. Kendrick säger i en pressrelease:

“There’s a lot of people out there chasing trends and showboating—trying to keep up and stay in front of the cameras”.

“My style has always just been me, and I respect a shoe, a company or a fan that is true to its roots and where it came from. That’s me. That’s also Classic Leather.”
