HBO har nu delat med sig av en ny trailer för deras kommande drama “The Idol”, som The Weeknd som bekant är involverad i. Abel Tesfaye, som han egentligen heter, har skapat serien tillsammans med Reza Fahim och “Euphoria”-skaparen Sam Levinson. Han skådespelar även jämte Lily-Rose Depp.

Dramaserien ska bestå av sex avsnitt “set against the backdrop of the music industry and centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol”, enligt HBO. Troye Sivan, Jennie Kim, Debby Ryan, Rachel Sennott, Steve Zissis, Hari Nef, Juliebeth Gonzalez och veteranproducenten Mike Dean syns även i roller.

“‘The Idol’s’ creative team continues to build, refine, and evolve their vision for the show and they have aligned on a new creative direction. The production will be adjusting its cast and crew accordingly to best serve this new approach to the series. We look forward to sharing more information soon”, meddelade HBO till Variety i april.

Kanalen och streamingtjänsten har ännu inte bekräftat något releasedatum för serien men trailern, som premiärvisades under The Weeknds spelning i Las Vegas i lördags, gör gällande att den “kommer snart”.
