Det verkar som att “Game of Thrones”-fans får vänta ett tag innan HBO återvänder till Westeros. Programchefen Casey Bloys avslöjar nu att serien, som tidigare rapporterat kommer att få titeln “House of the Dragon”, är i ett tidigt skede och att den får premiär “sometime in 2022”.

“They are starting writing. Obviously it’s a big, complicated show”, säger Bloys till Deadline.

Den tio avsnitt långa serien blir en prequel som kommer att fokusera på Targaryen-dynastin. Serien är baserad på George R.R. Martins bok “Fire & Blood” och kommer att utspela sig 300 år före händelserna i “Game of Thrones”. Det är en av fyra tidigare utlovade “GoT”-spinoffer, men i dagsläget verkar ingen annan vara aktuell just nu.

“For me for right now, I think getting House of the Dragon on the air will be the number one priority. There are no other blinking green lights or anything like that. Sometime down the road who knows, but there are no immediate plans. We are all focusing on House of the Dragon”, säger Bloys.

Det finns ännu ingen information om vilka skådespelare som kommer att vara involverade i projektet. Däremot kommenterade Bloys även den populära HBO-serien “Watchmen” och huruvida en ny säsong kommer. Tyvärr var svaret inte så givande.

“It is really up to [creator Damon Lindelof] at this point, he is thinking about what he wants to do. Truly, I don’t know at this point whether it is a returning drama series or a limited series. I think one of the things Damon did so brilliantly was, he opened up this entire world. So maybe there is another version with a whole new set of characters. I don’t know because Damon doesn’t know, and I’m taking his lead on this”, säger han till Deadline.
