Chris Rock agerade värd för filmvärldens största event i Los Angeles.

Under natten gick Oscarsgalan av stapeln på Dolby Theatre i Los Angeles vilket även blev den 88:e upplagan av galan, som även benämns Academy Awards. Skådespelaren och komikern Chris Rock stod som värd för galan för andra gången (senast han ledde galan var 2005.) Under vintern har Oscars kritiserats av ett flertal skådespelare, artister och regissörer för bristande mångfald, bland annat av Jada Pinkett Smith, Spike Lee och 50 Cent bland många andra.

Svenskan skådespelerskan Alicia Vikander nominerades i kategorin för “Bästa kvinnliga biroll” för “The Danish Girl” och tog hem en Oscar för rollen. Stort grattis!!

Den på förhand omtalade Leonardo DiCaprio knep även han en Oscar-statyett och höll i vanlig ordning ett uppmärksammat tal.
