Just nu skapar Peacock en serie i åtta delar om boxningsikonen Muhammad Ali, enligt Variety. Serien baserar sig på Jonathan Eigs biografi ”Ali: A Life” från 2017 och har fått titeln ”Excellence: 8 Fights”. För manus står Oscarsvinnande Kevin Willmott som tidigare gjort ”BlackKklansman”, ”Da 5 Bloods”, ”The 24th”, ”Jayhawkers” och ”Chi-Raq”. Det är också bekräftat att Morgan Freeman och Bridgerton-stjärnan Regé-Jean Page är exekutiva producenter.
Serien handlar om Muhammad Alis liv med ett särskilt fokus på hans inre kamp. Serien beskrivs så här:
“Excellence: 8 Fights” will chronicle eight distinct and defining moments in the iconic life of Muhammad Ali. Each episode will be framed by one fight from Ali’s life, but the essence of the episode, what it’s really about, is the internal fight – the drama outside the ring – where we will explore the struggle going on in the heart and mind of one of the most consequential and controversial figures of the 20th century”.
“Excellence: 8 Fights” har varit planerad sedan boken publicerades 2017. Än så länge finns det inte något bekräftat premiärdatum.
